Acne Skin Care Training
The first step in your acne skin care training will be
the identification of the specific type of skin you have.
Also, before any type of acne treatments are prescribed, this
analysis of your skin type will need to be done. Skin is the
outer covering of the entire human body, providing a barrier to
ward off microorganisms and harmful elements from entering the
body. It also regulates cetain vital bodily functions, like
regulating the loss of body liquids such as blood and water.
Also, it protects body tissues from injuries and controls body
temperature through perspiration.
The skin is composed of different layers. These are:
epidermis, dermis and subcutaneous tissue. The epidermis plays
a significant role in acne production as it includes hair
follicles, sweat glands and sebaceous glands. This component of
the skin is also very responsive to changes in temperature,
itching, and pain as it covers blood vessels and nerve
cells.
Skin is essentially categorized into three groupings:
1) normal skin
2) dry skin
3) oily skin
Aside from these primary types, it is further subdivided
into different categories where certain conditions apply. These
additional groupings, or types, are made up of different skin
combinations. Examples are: an acne-prone skin, sensitive skin,
aging skin and mature skin.
The acne-prone skins are typically more
oily and are characterized with pimples and blackheads. If not
given considerable care and treatment, these pimples and
blackheads would likely develop into severe acne conditions.
With severity comes the risk of permanent pits and scars.
Acne-infected people
must take extra care in treating their skin, managing their
food intake, and knowing the cosmetics they use. This is good
advice for every skin type, even those not suffering from
acne.
Apart from acne-prone skin, sensitive skin and oily skin are
also subjected to acne affliction. Oily skin is often coarse
and shiny in texture. This skin type may have enlarged skin
pores and recurring blackheads. Oily skin is also characterized
by flaky patches around the nose and increased amounts of oil
or sebum. These factors explain why acne infection is
widespread in this skin type, even during adulthood.
Sensitive type skins are also prone to acne because it is
readily affected by the slightest change in body chemistry,
which can be brought about by foods, cosmetics and external
factors. This skin type is characterized with damaged vessels
and capillaries below the skin surface.
If your skin is prone to sensitivity, you will need to take
added care with both internal and external influences to avoid
further skin inflammation. Take care in using perfumes,
cosmetics, and other chemical substances to avoid triggering
chemical reactions in the body. These may, in turn, produce
skin irritation and acne production. A proper diet along with
regular exercise will help maintain your skin and overall
physical appearance.
The level of your skin's oiliness may vary throughout the
day due to the weather and level of activity. So, proper skin
care, combined with effective acne treatments, is paramount in
your fight to minimize the physical and emotional effects of
the acne condition.
